Susanne refuses to change the clock – lives in constant winter time

Susanne refuses to change the clock lives in constant

On Sunday 27 October, we switch to winter time.

But Susanne Gudmunds58, she won’t change the clock – she’s been living in winter time for years. Or “normal time”, as she calls it.

– I just get stressed by having to get up an hour earlier. If you say this, when we reset the clocks now, then we go east in our time zone. This means that we get up earlier than the sun, compared to when we live in our own time zone, she says News24:’s podcast “The Flow”.

It affects the body tremendously, says Gudmunds, who runs the “NormaltidAlltid” campaign. The group has more than 7,000 members on Facebook and is constantly growing.

If society had instead lived in normal times, Susanne Gudmunds believes that we would have seen several advantages.

– We will be able to sleep better, we will be able to be more efficient at work. So much is affected.

She describes it as we have a small, tiny clock in our bodies that is affected by all the light we receive. Getting out of phase with the sunlight can lead to impaired sleep.

– We need darkness to sleep!

Have two clocks on the phone to keep track

One could imagine that living an hour behind the rest of society for half the year makes it difficult for Susanne Gudmunds.

But it works without friction, she says.

– I’m the one who has to keep track of things. I can’t bear to go on like this “no, it’s normal time at nine o’clock”. The mobile and the computer rearrange themselves, so in the mobile I have a widget with two clocks.

On Sunday, Gudmunds finally ends up in phase with the rest of society – a day of happiness.

– Then, when everyone else wakes up and resets the clock, then I still have normal time, she says in Flødet.
