Everyone knows Susanne Daubner: day after day, she provides Germany with the latest news on the Tagesschau. But in her private life, the serious speaker works completely differently: She has an unusual friendship with a trash TV icon. Nobody really expected that.
Multi-faceted: Tagesschau icon Susanne Daubner appears wonderfully human
Susanne Daubner is one of the most famous faces on German TV. The popular news anchor has been the face of the Tagesschau for 25 years and reports on world events in her matter-of-fact manner. For many years she was considered a serious, even slightly stuffy news anchor, But she has long since refuted this prejudice. Especially when she read out the youth word of the year, she became a viral internet phenomenon and was repeatedly made into memes.
Daubner proves that behind the perfect facade there is a completely normal person with this friendly laugh flash:

Huge surprise: Susanne Daubner is friends with THIS trash TV icon
Nobody really expected that. As Tag24 reports, Susanne Daubner maintains a close friendship with one of the most popular reality stars on trash TV: Champagne queen Claudia Obert. This became known as an eccentric scandal noodle and caused a stir with its rude sayings in shows like The Stars’ Summer House. She even dusted it off at this year’s Reality Awards Award for the biggest cringe moment of the year away:

But how did the unusual friendship come about? In an interview with Tag24, Claudia Obert reveals that the two women are neighbors. Both live in Hamburg and meet regularly for cozy evenings with wine and good food. Obert was particularly impressed by Daubner’s cooking skills: “She can cook so well. I always bring the drinks and the flowers and she cooks.”
The trash icon enjoys philosophizing about lofty things in private. Daubner is exactly the right person for this: “I think it’s great that I have a friend who is so well versed in current affairs and world politics.”
