In the survival MMO “The Front” you travel through time against zombies. The shooter starts early access on Epic and Steam today, October 11, 2023. Just in time for the start, there is also a roadmap for the coming year.
What kind of game is this? In “The Front” you play a resistance fighter who travels back in time to stop the zombie apocalypse. To accomplish this, you have access to various guns and the associated attachments as well as military equipment such as helicopters and tanks.
There are also survival elements in The Front: You can team up with friends, explore ruins and enemy areas, craft weapons and equipment, and build and defend a base.
The Front gets off to a bumpy start, but promises new features
What can you expect in Early Access? In EA you should have access to all survival and crafting features and be able to fight your way up to level 60. The promised features include building hideouts, converting vehicles and using systems to automatically defend your base.
However, The Front has so far collected predominantly negative ratings on Steam (as of October 11, 2023, 7:45 p.m.). If you want to get an idea of the game for yourself, you can do so with a 20% discount for €15.60 until October 18, 2023. In the Epic Game Store you only pay €14.39.
This is how it should continue: Perhaps the new content presented in the roadmap for the coming year announced on October 9th has the potential to improve the negative reviews.
If you’re not into helicopters and tanks in your survival games and prefer a fantasy setting, Enshrouded might be more to your taste. “Minecraft for adults” is scheduled to start early access in 2023 and celebrate its full release in 2024.
You can play it for free on Steam until October 16, 2023.
