Indie gem Don’t Starve Together is available on Steam for a rock-bottom price right now, which is setting record numbers. 7 years after its release, “Don’t Starve Together” has more players on Steam than ever before.
What kind of game is this? Don’t Starve (2013) and the co-op version Don’t Starve Together (2016) are games from the Canadian developer studio Klei Entertainment. Despite the cute look, the games should not be underestimated and can even put experienced survival players to a hard test.
Don’t Starve Together is currently available for €1.49 on PC and console, which is why more players are cavorting in the Tim Burton world than ever before.
More people than ever are (not) starving together
How many people are currently playing? According to SteamDB, Don’t Starve Together hit a new high of 96,046 concurrent players on April 29 at 3pm GMT. This puts it in 9th place in the most played games of the last 24 hours – ahead of Lost Ark and Call of Duty (via SteamDB).
That’s particularly impressive considering Don’t Starve Together 2019 was completely free for a weekend. At that time it “only” reached a peak of 68,000 simultaneous players.
Is this worth it for me? Don’t Starve Together (Release: 2016) is rated as “overwhelmingly positive” on Steam with 96% positive ratings, which speaks for itself. Survival fans who want to embark on a long and hard adventure in a dark atmosphere and don’t have a problem with comic graphics can’t really go wrong at the price.
In Don’t Starve Together you can not only starve to death, pretty much everything wants to get to you. While that makes it a favorite of many survival fans, not everyone wants to discover all 15 ways to go nuts in the game over a cozy evening of co-op on the couch.
