Surgery was postponed – had to amputate the leg
A woman had problems with a wound around one of her knee replacements. A planned operation was postponed several times, the wound worsened – and in the end the leg had to be amputated.
The woman sought treatment in Blekinge and the operation was scheduled at Skåne University Hospital. The reason why the procedure did not take place was a lack of capacity, reports say SVT News Blekinge.
In a notification to the Inspectorate for Care and Care (Ivo), Blekinge Hospital writes that communication with Skåne University Hospital has been deficient and that this has made cooperation difficult.
