The PS5 DualSense controller was preferred during the endoscopy operation performed by surgeons in Switzerland in Hong Kong, approximately 6,000 miles away. Surgeons took advantage of DualSense’s sensitivity and navigation features to control the endoscope via live video feed during surgery. This is an important proof that game controllers can be used in many different areas.
While surgeons successfully performed this remote operation, the biggest challenge was keeping the delay time to a minimum. With a latency of under 300 milliseconds, the PS5 controller allowed surgeons to make quick and accurate adjustments. Remote surgeries may become much more common in the medical field in the future.
