Surfing: German Sebastian Steudtner surfs a new world record here – with over two metres

Using drone technology, it has been determined that Sebastian Steudtner set a new world record with an achieved wave of 28.57 meters.

Once again, it is Nazaré, just over 10 miles north of the Portuguese capital Lisbon, that is the location of the new world record. Steudtner’s previous record was 26.21 meters.

– It’s great. It was such a wonderful day, says Steudtner to AP.

Reaches 100 kilometers per hour

German Sebastian Steudtner has redesigned his surfboard – which is said to have yielded results.

Previously, he could reach speeds of 80 kilometers per hour. But with the redesigned board, he can handle waves with speeds of 100 kilometers per hour.
