“HELP” – that’s exactly what a kite surfer got when he was found on a beach in California in the USA on Sunday.
The surfer had spelled out the English word HELP in large letters in the sand which was discovered by the private helicopter pilot. The pilot alerted the authorities, which led to the surfer being rescued.
Hoisted up by helicopter
In a video posted on X the rescue service can see how the beach the surfer was on is located on a steep mountain slope. A rescue helicopter was sent to the beach and the surfer was hoisted up with the help of the rescue personnel.
How long he was missing is unclear, but according to media reports, he did not need to seek medical care after the rescue.
