The highly anticipated DC blockbuster The Flash is about to bring a whole wave of DC stars back to the big screen. That includes Michael Shannon, whose Man of Steel villain General Zod is back in cinemas after 10 years. However, Shannon was very surprised about the new role offer. After all, his character was long dead.

Shannon explained to Looper:
I was a bit confused. I thought: “As far as I can remember, I died in Man of Steel. Are they sure they’re the right one [angerufen] have? But then someone explained the whole multiverse phenomenon to me, which I wasn’t up to then.
In principle, Shannon is right: General Zod dies in Man of Steel. However, this does not apply to the alternative General Zod versions of the rest of the DC Multiverse, which Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) will find himself in in The Flash. It is not yet known which universe Shannon’s new Zod comes from.

DC fans will soon find out how alternative Zod and The Flash cross paths. The Flash will be released on June 15, 2023 come to the cinema. And has an exciting Henry Cavill replacement in his luggage.
