Without a doubt, one of DC’s biggest defeats in recent years is Suicide Squad. The 2016 action blockbuster, directed by Will Smith, brings together the different villains in a great adventure. Despite the promising premise, the film turned out to be half-baked.
Although Suicide Saud can certainly be considered a success with worldwide box office earnings of 746 million US dollars, the film made sure mainly for negative reactions. At least since James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, David Ayer’s seems to have been overtaken and forgotten. But wait, not so fast.

Ever since the disappointing Justice League found new life in the four-hour Zack Snyder’s Justice League, fans have been hoping that one day we’ll see the so-called Ayer Cut from Suicide Squad will see. Last but not least, the director himself isn’t satisfied with the theatrical version. But what are the chances?

Under the hashtag #ReleaseTheAyerCut fans express their desire for Suicide Squad’s ayer cut. Scenes with the Joker (Jared Leto) and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) were cut. Currently, however, the chances are slim that this version of the film will ever be released or completed.

According to Ayer, while no reshoots are needed to complete his vision, it’s similar to Zack Snyder’s Justice League to be released on HBO Max. As TV Line reports, the streaming service currently has no plans in this direction. HBO Max is invested in other DC projects.
Still, that doesn’t seem to stop Ayer from continuing to push for his Suicide Squad. Various stars who were involved in the project have also met in the past voted for the release of the Ayer-Cutmost recently Jay Hernandez, who starred as Chato Santana aka El Diablo in the film.
