Similar to the (much more cynical) superhero series The Boys, My Hero Academia is set in one World full of superpowerscalled Quirks. The story focuses primarily on the boy Izuku Midoriya, who is one of the few born without superpowers. Because he still wants to fight for good, he seeks out his idol, the legendary superhero All Might, who bequeaths him his Quirk after he realizes Midoriya’s potential. But that’s just where his training at the UA High School for Heroes begins.
In addition to the anime series, My Hero Academia also spawned three spin-off manga, light novels, four anime films (most recently This Year’s You’re Next) and several video games. The US production company Legendary Entertainment has been working on one since 2018 Live-action adaptationwhich is now being produced on behalf of Netflix. Director Shinsuke Sato is said to be working with a script by Joby Harold.
