An eagle, seven birdies and a total of seven strokes under par mean that the Swede is tied for fourth with -9 after two rounds played, one stroke behind the leading trio of Thomas Pieters, Richard Bland and American amateur golfer Michael Thorbjornsen.
Several other Swedes made the cut, including Henrik Stenson and Ludwig Åberg. 23-year-old Åberg, who is an amateur, impressed greatly during the first round of the competition where he, together with Ian Poulter, was the best with 65 strokes. In the second round, however, things went worse. 73 strokes, one over par, mean that Åberg has slipped down to shared 22nd place.
Due to rain delaying play in Dubai, the second round of the competition was played on Saturday instead of Friday. However, the competition must be played out and the fourth and final round is scheduled to be played on Monday.
