“Sunny” is an American series starring Rashida Jones set in Japan. Available to stream on Apple TV+ from July 10, 2024.
Apple TV+ is presenting a new series that promises to be intriguing and unique in its genre, Sunnywith Rashida Jones (Parks and Rec) in the lead role. Created by Katie Robbins (Tea Affair), Sunny takes place in Kyoto, in a semi-futuristic Japan, and immerses us in a universe mixing comedy, investigation and science fiction.
Based on the book The Dark Manual by Colin O’Sullivan, Sunny traces the story of Suzie in her quest for truth after the mysterious disappearance of her husband and son. The arrival of Sunny, a domestic robot, disrupts her daily life and brings all its originality to the series. Sunny is available from July 10, 2024 on Apple TV+, a new episode is revealed every Wednesday until September 4.
What is the plot of Sunny ?
Suzie Sakamoto, an American living in Japan, sees her life turned upside down when she learns of the death of her husband and son in a mysterious plane crash. To help her in her grief, she receives Sunny, a domestic robot made by her husband, as a gift. Did Masa know he was going to die? Is that why he created this robot? In any case, an unexpected friendship will be born between the two characters. With Sunny’s help, Suzie gradually discovers that dark secrets surrounded Masa’s life.
