On Saturday, Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson and the Center Party’s party leader Annie Lööf will visit the American warship USS Kearsarge, which is moored in central Stockholm. The visit is made together with Commander-in-Chief Michael Bydén and his American counterpart Mark Milley. Minister of Defense Peter Hultqvist is also participating. – This is the first time we have a sitting American Chief of Defense visiting Sweden, says Jessica Josefsson who reports directly from the ship. On Thursday, the American battleship arrived in Stockholm before the military exercise Baltic Operations, also called Baltops. The 257 meter long ship is just one of several ships docked in Stockholm and will participate in the 51st edition of the exercise.
