For those who know the rule about the grill – it’s back that applies. From 02.59 the clock turns back to 02.00 again and in one fell swoop the day becomes 25 hours.
Why is there summer time/winter time?
Daylight saving time was introduced in 1980 so that the daylight during the summer months could be used better by setting the sun an hour later.
Wasn’t there talk of it being abolished?
Daylight saving time has been discussed for several years, but no decisions have been made, despite the fact that both the European Commission and the European Parliament want the time change abolished.
The Council of Ministers has still not put its foot down – and thus there is no decision. Nor has the Swedish government made any decision.
What if I work at night and have longer shifts?
Different professions have different contracts. According to a review that the newspaper The work done, most hourly employees are paid for the extra hour. In healthcare, most people receive one hour of overtime compensation. Police officers, on the other hand, do not receive extra pay. They also don’t get a deduction when they work during the daylight saving time night – when the shift is shorter. In industry, only the hourly employees receive compensation.
When do we get daylight saving time again?
On the night between March 25 and 26, 2023, the clocks are set forward again for the summer.
