The live ticker for the Summer Game Fest 2022 with all trailers
20:31: Introducing the next sci-fi horror title: Fort Solis. It’s really establishing a post-pandemic trend. Troy Baker and Roger Clark are voice actors in the game, it’s kind of like “gaming voice nobility.”
8:30 p.m.: It’s back to being indie now, so Keighley runs through games in 40 seconds that he really cares about. Allegedly. Apparently you have to make up for the time you just had in Call of Duty.
A new game to the Flashback series is coming, it’s called Witchfire.
The most important thing about Flashback:
20:26: The developers talk about WarZone 2: This is the part of Call of Duty that interests many most: developers assure that there is a lot more coming soon, one is super excited but doesn’t want to reveal anything just yet.
New Call of Duty gameplay revealed
20:14 Call of Duty is on. Modern Warfare 2 is due out on October 28th. You’re bringing “the whole team.” I guess that means that you’re going to bring a kind of “best of” of the characters to Modern Warfare 2 that players know from previous games.
Lots of action in a scripted gameplay mission, with screams of pain, blood and Spanish commands.
Call of Duty gameplay has now stretched longer than last Game Fest’s 8 indie titles combined.
The gameplay looks really good, containers slide across the surface of a freighter. The weather effects look good, the weapons seem to have the right weight. Maybe a bit unrealistic that the protagonist dismisses body hits as bleeding slightly and just keeps going, but oh well.
Trailer ends with: “Pre-order and get early access to Open Beta!” – Classic.
Key facts about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2:
20:10 Quick developer interview on Project Callisto, poor man is wasting his tiny window of opportunity thanking Keighley for everything he’s done for the industry. Keighley quickly brushes them off: We don’t have time.
The developer emphasizes how hard it was to finish the game during the Covid pandemic. We will certainly hear that phrase more often today.
Keighly says it’s a “world class” game. We will certainly hear this sentence more often today. The first gameplay of the game is now shown.
Callisto Protocol’s gameplay is very reminiscent of Dead Space. Enemies are mutant-like humans that you shoot in third-person and slaughter with melee weapons.
The most important thing about Project Callisto:
20:06: More on Project Callisto is now coming into the show. Bit of alien SF overkill to bring that right to Aliens.
For reasons of space and performance, the beginning of the ticker is on page 2.
