The summer of 2024 was the hottest so far that the EU’s climate service Copernicus has recorded globally.
This increases the likelihood that the year as a whole will be the warmest on record.
“During the last three months of 2024, the world has experienced the hottest June and August, the hottest day on record and the hottest Northern Hemisphere summer on record,” Samantha Burgess, deputy director of Copernicus, said in a new report.
