In a press release posted on social networks, the Canadian rock group Sum 41 announces their separation.

“Sum 41 is going to be disbanded.” In a press release posted on its social networks on May 8, 2023, the Canadian rock band announces its separation. “Building Sum 41 since 1996 has brought us some of the best times of our lives. Thank you for the past 27 years. We will be forever grateful to our fans, old and new, who have supported us every step of the way,” it read. in the same document of the formation carried by singer Deryck Whibley, bassist Jason McCaslin, guitarists Dave Baksh and Tom Thacker and drummer Frank Zummo.

The members of Sum 41, however, promise that they will not part ways until they have completed “all of their tour dates this year”, and released their “final album”, called Heaven:x:Hellwhich will itself be followed by a final farewell tour.

Formed on the 41st day in the summer of 1996 (hence its name) in Ontario, the group Sum 41 has distinguished itself during its 27-year career thanks to numerous hits and albums, such as All Killer, No Filler released in 2001, carried by the tube In Too Deep. In total, Sum 41 has released eight albums and is listened to by over 9 million people on Spotify.
