On Monday, Donald Trump will be inaugurated as president of the United States during a ceremony to which far-right figures are invited.
The inauguration of Donald Trump will be a real ballet of the extreme right, Monday January 20. Contrary to tradition, the American president invited European leaders for his big day: the far-right Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, but also the Argentine President, Javier Milei, as well as the Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. Éric Zemmour and his partner, Sarah Knafo, were also invited and attended. Marion Maréchal Le Pen was also invited.
Among the guests, we will also find the billionaire’s supporters, namely the three richest men in the world: Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX; Jeff Bezos, boss of Amazon and Blue Origin; Mark Zuckerberg, head of Meta.
The 60th inaugural ceremony of the President of the United States will begin at 9:30 a.m. local time (3:30 p.m. French time) and will be broadcast on 24-hour news channels, reports Public Senate. Donald Trump will begin the day by attending a mass at St. John’s Episcopal Church, located across Lafayette Park from the White House, a tradition for presidents-elect, reports Associated Press. He will then go to the White House with his wife, Melania, to drink tea with Joe and Jill Biden, also a traditional stop.
The group Village People will perform
The rest of the inauguration ceremony will take place at the Capitol: the event, initially planned outdoors, will ultimately take place indoors due to freezing temperatures. Artists are expected during a musical performance, including country singer Carrie Underwood, accompanied by the army choir. The vice-president will take the oath of office at 11:30 a.m. (local time), followed at noon by Donald Trump (6 p.m. French time).
The new head of state will receive the swearing-in from the President of the Supreme Court and will present the objectives of his mandate in a speech. Donald Trump will sign his first appointments and possibly issue his first decrees. Then comes the inaugural lunch and the review of the troops. A military parade, with troops, bands and floats, will then travel through Washington.
Donald Trump’s mandate will kick off upon his arrival at the White House, followed by a signing ceremony in the Oval Office. He will speak again at three inauguration balls, which will take place at the end of the day. The Village People group, author of “YMCA”, will perform at the second ball.
