After this weekend’s heat peak, temperatures will drop next week. The mercury should drop around ten degrees.
If another sunny weekend awaits the French, Saturday April 13 and Sunday April 14, with temperatures above seasonal norms, we will have to make the most of this exceptional heat peak. Weather conditions will change quickly. The week from April 15 to 21 should experience temperatures below seasonal averages due to the direction of the northerly winds.
Temperatures should start to drop from Sunday, with in particular “clouds coming from the British Isles which will gradually arrive along the coast of the Channel”, relays The Weather Channel. A refreshment is therefore expected, according to Météo France forecasts even indicating that “a few rainy spells could cross the north of the country”. “Temperatures should drop below seasonal norms. Some rainy spells could cross the north of the country, elsewhere conditions should be sunnier,” adds the institute.
Risk of freezing
The drop in temperatures expected from Monday should be quite marked. On average, the temperature will drop from 22°C this Saturday, April 13 to 13°C on Monday. The drop in mercury will be significant in the west of the country. The nights will become very cool. Only the South-East is expected to maintain relatively high temperatures this week, with the mercury exceeding 20°C around the Côte-d’Azur. Faced with this sudden drop in minimum temperatures, some meteorologists are warning of a risk of frost in certain areas during the week, which could cause some damage to crops. And temperatures should remain below seasonal norms before rising again for the weekend of April 21.
