Since the beginning of the war, it is in Darfur, a vast region like France where a quarter of the Sudanese live, that the violence has been the most intense. Several states in this region have experienced very violent and sometimes ethnic clashes. North Darfur State is one of them, but a local initiative is now seeking to pacify this state through dialogue.
