Sudan announced on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in a press release published on the official page of the government spokesperson that it had filed an official complaint against Chad on Friday before the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, whose headquarters is found in Banjul, Gambia. Khartoum accuses Ndjamena of providing aid to the Rapid Support Forces (FSR) in Sudan where they are committing abuses: killings, rapes, forced displacement of populations, war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The complaint was filed on November 1 before the African Union Commission, by members of a legal committee formed by the sovereign council and responsible for prosecuting the FSR and their foreign allies before international bodies.
The complaint targets the Chadian government and accuses it of intervening in Sudanese affairs by supporting the paramilitaries at war for more than a year and a half against the army. In a statement, the Sudanese Ministry of Justice asserts that Chad played “ an essential role in the crimes committed by the rebel militia » and that Sudan has tangible evidence of this involvement.
Ndjamena rejects accusations
Ndjamena reacted to these new accusations by reiterating that she does not intervene in Sudan except as a mediator in order to bring peace.
On October 29, Sudan’s representative to the United Nations said that the 30 humanitarian aid trucks transported to Sudan from Chad were under the protection of the RSF, but that in reality they were carrying sophisticated weapons for them .
Chad has always denied all the accusations from Khartoum.
