Successful skier William Poromaa’s cocky answer before the World Ski Championships – and reveals major concerns: “What can go wrong”

William Poromaa has sailed as an exciting medal candidate.
Now the successful skier reveals his own cocky words ahead of the Skiing World Cup.
– I know what capacity I have when I’m in full shape, he says in a television interview.

Before the current season had William Poromaa only a single podium at the World Cup. The 22-year-old from Fränsta broke through as an 18-year-old when he made his debut in the 2019 World Cup.

William’s success

But just as the Swedish men’s national team had to struggle in the tracks, Poromaa also had to wait for his big international breakthrough. Recently, the Swede showed his great capacity and that there is something so incredibly promising within him when he lived up to expectations in the French Les Rousses.

There were double podium places with a third place in 10 km and then another third place in 20 km and a very nice result for the upcoming ski WC. Because then Poromaa hopes to be able to take the last step towards the top of the world and achieve his very first WC medal in his career.

Poromaa’s words

The Swedish national ski team has today released a video on their official Instagram page where they interview William Poromaa as early as June 2, 2022. Then he shows his self-confidence and offers a cocky answer ahead of the WC season.
– In the middle of February it will feel exciting, then there are only a few weeks left until the WC. It is a championship that I have quite high expectations for and I really hope to be able to perform at the top. What can go wrong is that the training doesn’t work and I enter the WC wrongly. But I will do my utmost not to end up in that position, he says in the interview, which you can see below.

So this is before the current season and with only a single podium at the World Cup behind him, he is already looking towards WC medals.
– If everything works and runs smoothly, I have very high expectations and I know what capacity I have when I’m in full shape. I hope to be on the podium in Planica, says the 22-year-old confidently, see the video below.

Then the reporter asks: “If I say WC medal to William Poromaa, what will the Fränstaborn say then?”
– They say it’s completely possible!, replies the Swede who is current in the World Cup.
