It was almost premiere feelings before kick-off when IFK Norrköping hosted Malmö FF in the Allsvenskan as there were several new acquisitions in both starting eleven.
In addition: “Beijing” without head coach at the bench when Rikard Norling was fired earlier this week. Assistant coaches Vedran Vucicevic and Anes Mravac will lead the team until a new head coach is in place.
Of all the new acquisitions, there was one that shone a little extra this afternoon.
MFF: s Moustafa Zeidan.
The 24-year-old midfielder was presented by Malmö FF last week, recruited from Sirius, and he only needed ten minutes to make an impression.
An unsuccessful clearance from “Beijing” Godswill Ekpolo ended up right in the gap on Zeidan who thanked, received and placed 1-0 with the left from close range.
– It’s fun to show off in the debut, it’s good. The most important thing is that we take three points from here and that is what we aim for, says Zeidan to Discovery + during the break.
And three points was exactly what Zeidan and Malmö got.
Just over ten minutes into the second half, Isaac Kiese Thelin made it 2-0 when he found the far corner from a narrow angle.
Assist to that goal? Moustafa Zeidan.
A decent debut in other words.
The 2-0 victory took MFF to third place in the table, 27 points, one point behind Häcken at the top who, on the other hand, has two games less played.
IFK Norrköping remains in eleventh place with 16 recorded points.
