So far, pretty normal.
But then the national weather agency is calling for a cloudy Saturday with an nighttime low of -2 C that could spell trouble for early gardening efforts – an extreme swing even for springtime, though meteorologist Gerald Chang says residents shouldn’t be overly surprised.
“The spring patterns are oftentimes rain followed by a cold front, or rain accompanying a cold front,”
Chang said. “Then it starts again. It warms up, creating more moisture and then more rain.”
He added: “It’s that time of the year we get warm days and cool nights. It’s not summer yet.”
And the cold won’t last long, with Environment Canada expecting a sunny Sunday with a daytime high of 12 C.
