Subway claims that 10,000 want to change their name – to Subway

The ownership families behind sandwich vendor Subway are rumored to be ready to sell after more than 50 years in the business.

So what could be better than a really talked about campaign?

Claims stormy interest

Subway promised free sandwiches for life to the person in the US who legally changed their name to Subway. If several chose to do so, one would be happily chosen.

According to the company, 10,000 people in the US were “willing” to change their name within just 96 hours of the campaign’s launch. The winner among those who have changed their name will be chosen this month.

Rumored sale

Something that is also rumored to happen this month is a sale of the entire company for 9 billion dollars, corresponding to around 96 billion kroner, reports Reuters.

In addition to free sandwiches, whoever wins the competition will also receive compensation for costs associated with the name change, Subway promises. If more than one person changes their name to Subway, they will have to pay for it themselves – without surcharge.
