GEO HISTORY TOPICS AVAILABLE. On May 11 and 12, some high school students took the history-geography specialty test. Official topics and answers are available
For the session of baccalaureate specialty exams 2022, students who chose History-Geography (aka HGGPS) took their written test on Wednesday May 11 and Thursday May 12, with a different topic each day. Given the complexity of organizing these tests for all the candidates, the majority of the tests took place over two days. This new examination instituted during the reform of the bac thus has a singularity: the national tests which are maintained can be different from one candidate to another.
If the format of the baccalaureate was different, on the themes addressed on the other hand, there were no big surprises. For final year students who have opted for history-geography, the subjects of the essay and commentary on the history-geo text have been built around the lessons provided during this year, on the themes addressed. For this great first of the writings of the specialty tests since the reform of the baccalaureate, the candidates had the possibility of dismissing one of the 2 subjects proposed for the dissertation, a way for the Ministry of National Education to relax the requirements of the examination to take into account the health context which may have disrupted the monitoring of the program during the year. In addition, three subjects in history, geography, geopolitics and/or political science are in fact offered in total during the specialty test, all on different themes to allow candidates to choose the theme on which they wish to be assessed. A decision that is very important because the history-geography specialty test counts as coefficient 16 in the final mark of the baccalaureate. Especially since the HGGSP specialty is one of the most commonly chosen among high school students.
Within half an hour of the end of the HGGSP test, answers to the exercises were already available. Written by an associate professor, the answers offered below are safe and allow candidates to discover the answers or in any case the milestones that should be followed in their copy.

For the HGGSP baccalaureate, the main expected was the construction of a dissertation, the development of a detailed argument and the realization of a critical study. In addition, the subjects proposed required an in-depth knowledge of certain aspects of the program: after the conquest of space and the United States and the environment on Wednesday, the dissertation subjects on Thursday focused on “maritime spaces” as an “object of rivalries and cooperation” and “the new forms and logics of war in the 21st century”. The third topic was a critical document review exercise. On Thursday, its theme was “uses and representations of the environment”. On Wednesday, a first group of candidates had already worked on the subjects of History-geo for the 2022 baccalaureate and had to work for their part on “the evolution of the forms of war”. Although the history-geography test is organized one month before the written and oral French, philosophy and grand oral tests, the results could only be known at the time of the publication of all the results, namely July 5, 2022. Initially, the mark obtained in this test should have appeared in the Parcoursup file but with the postponement of the dates, it is possible that the announcement of the candidates’ results will be postponed until the end of the baccalaureate.
