Spokesman of the US Department of Defense Brigadier General Patrick Ryder said that the cameras of the US unmanned naval vehicles (IDA) captured by Iran in the Red Sea are missing and they do not know whether they are in the hands of Iranian forces.
Brigadier General Ryder answered questions at his daily press conference.
Confirming the information that the cameras attached to the two US IDAs that Iran seized in the Red Sea last week are missing, Ryder said, “These were unclassified, non-sensitive technology cameras on the market. I don’t know exactly what happened to those cameras. I cannot confirm that you received it.” said.
The US general also said he was unsure whether the US would make an effort to find them, as there are no military or sensitive technology cameras.
Iran announced on September 2 that it had detained two US-owned IDAs in the Red Sea “on the grounds that they threatened maritime security”.
After the US sent two destroyer ships to the region, the Iranian navy released two sea vehicles. (AA)
