But reopening the gate at Stulpselaan will certainly not happen, Insinger insists. “We really don’t think a child on a bicycle or a lonely cyclist who wants to cross the road is a problem. We care about the 199,999 other people on bicycles, mountain bikes, electric bicycles, recumbent bicycles, and so on, who are following behind. Our Experience also shows that bicycle traffic leads to plastic bottles and other waste in the nature along the route. We have absolutely no longer had any problems with this on Stulpselaan since the closure. And many visitors appreciate that you can take a peaceful walk there again.”
