“Many people with not having a stable job or not having a place to stay,” Avery Chard, the production’s stage manager, said. “This show illustrates how everyone has hard times.”
Written by Jerome McDonough, the play is being performed by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois.
The students put the production together for the Ontario National Theater School DRAMAFEST competition.
As part of the competition, students were asked what they would like to do if their production won and moved on to the next level.
“We said we would like to perform it as a fund-raiser for a local charity,” Chard said. “We didn’t win but we decided that we’d still like to do it to help the community and so that’s why we’re performing it again.”
Doors open at 6:30 pm and tickets are $5 or two non-perishable food items or items such as toiletries and feminine hygiene products.
Proceeds and donations from the performance will be donated to Nova Vita Domestic Violence Services and the St. Vincent de Paul Food bank in Brantford.
