The amounts are lower than those of the abolished basic grant, whereby students living away from home received 286 euros and residents at home 102 euros. The National Student Union finds it incomprehensible. “I don’t think you get very much with it, as a student. Since then everything has become more expensive: tuition fees, rents, energy prices, it is strange that the stock market has become lower,” says Joshua de Roos of the union.
