Student abused Caroline: “Thought I would soon stop breathing”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Last fall, when middle school teacher Caroline was giving a lesson to a fourth-grade class at a school in Stockholm, she was attacked by a student, which the newspaper Läraren was the first to report.

In the beginning, Caroline was in pain and it was difficult to eat. After the incident, the nightmares also came. The school offered psychological help, but according to Caroline, they wanted to hush up the incident.

– They said it could cause concern and give the school a bad reputation.

Primary school principal: “No comments”

In an email to SVT, primary school principal Carina Hallqvist replies:

“No comments on that issue. I do not want to go into individual cases in detail.”

She also writes that they are now working on a new action plan to reduce the risk of threats and violence.

What is required to reduce the risk of threats and violence?

– Students who are at risk of becoming violent need a lot of support and help. To create a safe environment, more adults are needed in the classroom, says teacher Caroline.
