The officer and instructor at F16 in Uppsala, who was reported for having humiliated and hit a conscript in the back of the head with an open hand after he shot at the wrong target during a shooting exercise, has now been fired. This is evident from a dismissal decision from the Swedish Armed Forces’ personnel responsibility board.
The officer has denied that his actions were punitive. He believes that it must have been a pat on the conscript’s helmet and that his actions were a way to calm the conscript.
The Personnel Responsibility Board says take the officer’s actions very seriously and that it goes against the Armed Forces’ core values.
