Calls to the national men’s helpline increased by 300 per cent last month, compared to the same time last year. In the past two months, the men’s helpline has received 3,000 calls from all over the country, reports Sweden’s Radio Ekot. In the same period last year, 900 calls were received. The pandemic is considered to be a contributing factor to the increase.

Mansjouren is a non-profit crisis reception that offers conversational support for men. Many conversations are about relationship problems, loneliness, life crises but also psychological and physical violence in the relationship.

In total, the men’s hotline received 6,500 calls in 2022, which is more than in the whole of 2021.
