The east coast of Taiwan has been shaken by a strong earthquake on Friday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

According to the research institute, the magnitude of the earthquake near the city of Hualien was 6.1. The earthquake is estimated to have occurred at a depth of approximately 15 kilometers. According to the authorities, the earthquake has not been reported to have caused any damage.

In Taiwan, strict building regulations are followed and preparations are made for earthquakes. In connection with Friday’s earthquake, the authorities sent a warning message to mobile phones, urging people to seek safety.
