It will be impossible to avoid justice, says Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) according to P4 Halland.

That’s after the channel’s review of how easily suspected perpetrators dodge police reports.

– If I were to predict a development, it is about making it more difficult step by step, and preferably impossible to stay away in the way that is happening today, says the Minister of Justice to the channel.

According to P4 Halland, the police fail to report approximately one in four crimes, which amounts to approximately 13,000 each year.

The fact that suspected criminals stay away can, among other things, lead to crimes being statute-barred.

In an examination of P4 Halland, the channel’s journalists have, in just a few hours, found people that the police and private officers cannot find.

The Ministry of Justice has not taken up the issue again, but within the government the possibility of digital official mail is being prepared, which is a first step on the way.

– We will have to come back to exactly how it should be designed and done in a way that is efficient and legally secure.

The new service law came into force in 2011 and was adjusted as late as 2023.
