The contract between Kärppie and Tardif includes a foreign option. It means that the player can move abroad after this and next season.
24 year old Canadian Ben Tardif continues in Kärpi.
He started in the League in the 2023–2024 season. At that time, Tardif, who played his first season in Europe, represented Koovola’s KooKoo. In his rookie season, the man scored 50 points in 57 games. There were 15 goals and 35 assists.
Tardif moved to Oulu and Kärppi for the current season. The old scoring pace has shown no signs of fading, because in 19 games Tardif has a record of collecting 18 points and is in 14th place on the points exchange.
Kärppi’s sports director Mikko Myllykoski is happy that Tardif will continue to play in Oulu.
– We are very pleased to announce that Ben will continue in Oulu. The young player feels that he can develop and grow in this environment, which we can be proud of, says Myllykoski in Kärppien’s press release.
The attacker is convinced of his continuation in the Oulu club.
– I am really happy about the extension contract with the team. Although we haven’t achieved the desired results so far, we strive to bring a culture of winning and I want to be part of it, says Tardif.
– My wife and I have liked Oulu as a city, and especially in the Kärppie organization, everyone has been really nice. My goal is to win games. If everyone in the team plays well, I think the result will be according to that, says Tardif.
