IF Metall announces that employees at the electric car company have now gone on strike. The strike covers all of the workshops that Tesla has in Sweden.
– It will be noticeable on Friday morning when the workshops open, says Jesper Pettersson, press officer at IF Metall.
Strike Tesla
The union has demanded that Tesla sign a collective agreement to give the workshop staff the same conditions as colleagues in the industry.
According to IF Metall, however, the electric car company refuses to sign a collective agreement on the grounds that Tesla does not do so anywhere else in the world.

Maria Lantz, communications manager at Tesla Sweden has chosen not to provide any comments to TT.
Not all of the people who work at the service facilities who are on strike are in the union. IF Metall does not want to say how many members there are, but that “there are many”.
More should have been added in recent days.
If the union succeeds in its blockade, it could mean that Tesla owners can get their car repaired or serviced. However, there are other workshops that work with Teslas.
No new negotiations planned
But it could be worse. Owners of new cars may find it difficult to collect them. Indeed, IF Metall has extended its strike notice to also apply to another 20 workshops from Friday 3 November.
No new negotiations between the parties are planned.
