Three masked robbers were waiting outside his former colleague’s home when he came home from his evening shift at a company in Landskrona that uses copper in its production, Helsingborgs Dagblad reports.

Under knife and death threats, he was forced to hand over the codes to his bank accounts and his access card to the company, which allowed the robbers to enter the company’s premises and steal 1.3 tons of copper wire.

The robbers had previously worked at the company and knew the company’s routines. But, according to the prosecutor, they had to quit because the employer suspected they were involved in copper theft at the company.

Now two of the men, aged 23 and 28, are each sentenced to six years in prison for, among other things, robbery, kidnapping and aggravated theft. Both deny wrongdoing. The third robber is still at large.
