Strict Control on Call of Duty VPN Users

New regulations have been introduced against Call of Duty VPN users. RICOCHET’s security team restricts VPN abusers.

Activision has taken new measures to ensure fairness in the game by targeting VPN users in the Call of Duty series. These new applications, run by the security team called RICOCHET in Black Ops 6 and Warzone, aim to combat account boosting and VPN lobbies.

New Regulations for VPN Users in Call of Duty

Call of Duty players have long used VPNs to access less competitive regions. This was seen as an advantage, especially for streamers to catch impressive clips by being in the same lobby with low-skilled players. However, with Activision’s latest updates, this advantage is disappearing.

According to the statement made by RICOCHET and Treyarch, although the new regulations will not completely prevent VPN use, they will significantly reduce its abuse. In particular, manipulations made with VPN are limited by making it mandatory for players to play matches with ping thresholds close to their own region.

Another important part of the update is the AFK (inactivity) detection developed for account boosting transactions. In this way, the accounts of players who try to earn points by remaining inactive for a certain period of time will be detected more quickly and the necessary sanctions will be applied.

Call of Duty’s competitive mode aims to provide a more fair gaming environment with these new regulations in the Ranked Play mode in Black Ops 6. Although such cheats have been encountered in games such as Modern Warfare III in the past, it is expected that there will be a significant decrease in the number of cheaters with these new measures by Activision.
