Many Lopikers are stressed. Let that be clear. The provincial road near their village will not be closed for another month, but the tension has already risen. A Facebook page against the closure of the road already has over a thousand members, parents say they are afraid for the safety of their children cycling to school. On the Lopikerweg-Oost it will be “one big mess”, thinks resident Niels Dommisse. “This will be about the only road that we can use with all of Lopik to get out of the village. Well, you see: that will not work.”
