Streaming service kills 4 series in a very short

Just a few days ago, The Witcher, one of the most successful Netflix series, returned with a new season – a privilege that not all streaming service projects can claim for a long time now. Almost every week we get news about serial cancellations. Now it has hit four pieces.

The sci-fi thriller Welcome to the End has no future on Netflix, as do three other original series

As can be seen from the What’s on Netflix resignation overview, there was a veritable bloodbath of resignations at Netflix in July. Affected are: Welcome to Eden, Snowflake Mountain, Sky High and Every Time We Fell in Love. Neither series will return for new seasons.

  • Welcome to Eden is a sci-fi thriller from Spain. Season 1 came last year, season 2 this year. The story revolves around a group of influencers fighting for their lives on an island. The big cliffhanger at the end of the last episode will probably remain unsolved forever.
  • Snowflake Mountain started in 2022. The UK reality show sends young adults into the wild. No running water, no WLAN: As in Welcome to Eden, the survival instincts are sharpened here, but probably not quite as drastically as in the nasty social satire.
  • sky high, another Spanish original, premiered in March. The series is the sequel to the Netflix film of the same name, which caused a stir on the streaming service in 2020. Now the story about a woman in the criminal underworld comes to an abrupt end.

  • Every time we fell in love actually had every reason to be successful. Last but not least, Carlos Montero is one of the creative heads of the Spanish Netflix high-flyer Elite behind the project. However, the mixture of love drama and coming-of-age that started in February does not go any further.
  • It is striking that three Spanish Netflix originals were hit at the same time. Spain is one of the streaming service’s biggest content hubs. It looks like Netflix is rethinking its content release strategy and shedding some projects that haven’t lived up to expectations. Here you can find all other Netflix cancellations in 2023.
