Every gamer knows it: If you cheat, you face punishment. In the worst case, fans can expect a ban. A streamer has now openly cheated in his stream in Destiny 2, but he was only warned instead of banned.
Which streamer is to blame? Leopard or leopardstealth is a streamer on Twitch. He is not one of the biggest Destiny 2 streamers, but is known for his content. He especially likes to take part in the Bungie Bounties, where he pranks and misleads viewers.
He is currently attempting a solo kill in the new raid “Edge of Salvation”. He wants to defeat the Witness alone, like an unknown Guardian once did, but Leopard wanted to use a nasty trick to achieve his goal. However, this trick is prohibited according to Bungie’s ToS (Terms of Use) and even though there is visual evidence of his attempted cheating, he is only punished with a warning.
VPN gives you an unfair advantage in the latest raid
How did the fraud attempt work? Leopard logged in with VPN from a different location to increase his ping (latency). Due to the increased latency, the streamer was able to destroy up to 3 glyphs on the witness’ chest instead of 2. The streamer shared this unfair advantage on X (formerly Twitter:
The problem is that network manipulation is against Bungie’s terms of service. Many dishonorable PvP players use this tactic to win against other players. Leopard also uses this option to gain an advantage and get closer to defeating the Witness. Bungie has noticed this and has responded.
What did Bungie say? Bungie also reacted to the video evidence that Leopard posted. They commented on the case and put the streamer in his place:
Hello everyone.
I wanted to give a fair warning. This is against our ToS. We understand the desire to tackle more challenging content solo, but manipulating the network to gain an advantage in PvE or PvP can result in restrictions or bans.
We strongly advise against doing this.

While other users are banned by Bungie without any identifiable reason, Leopard gets off lightly. The community cannot understand this behavior of the developers.
What do the fans say? They are shocked that the streamer is publicly revealing his fraud and that Bungie has not taken tougher action against such an attempted fraud. The following can be heard on x.com:
