Streamer invites Mod over, mocks him on Twitch for an hour and a half, but he thinks it’s okay

The Twitch streamer “supcaitlin” hosted a shared stream with her mod “Dilly”. However, her behavior towards her guest is perceived by many as mean and downright bullying. However, Dilly himself explains that they are actually good friends.

What kind of situation was that? Streamer “supcaitlin” appeared in a January 6, 2024 stream with a moderator of her Twitch chat, Dyllan “Dilly.” Apparently she had invited him to spend a few days with her.

However, many viewers found the almost hour and a half stream unpleasant, to say the least. Because supcaitlin spent the time making fun of her guest.

The “climax” is probably reached when there is a kiss between Dilly and supcaitlin. The streamer had previously set the kiss as a “donation goal” – i.e. a task that is completed with a certain amount of donations. When the time came, the streamer only managed to keep her promise after several attempts and with the help of alcohol.

After a brief touch of the lips, supcaitlin jumps up screaming and disappears – apparently to wash his mouth out, while Dilly remains alone in the stream.

The accompanying clip went viral, garnering more than 225,000 views. That’s a lot for a streamer with an average of 2,500 viewers (via TwitchTracker). But many people’s reactions apparently weren’t what the streamer had imagined.

Many content creators use goals like these to encourage their viewers to donate, but this can backfire badly:

Streamer receives criticism from viewers and other influencers

How was this discussed? For many viewers, the case seems clear: In comments on Reddit or YouTube, they suspect that Dilly has feelings for the streamer, while she treats him badly and exploits him for content.

Twitch’s content creator and highest moral authority, Charles “Cr1tiKaL” White, released a lengthy video describing supcaitlin’s behavior as “unnecessarily mean” and downright “heartbreakingly vicious.”

For the YouTuber, the streamer’s comments are not jokes, but simply insults. This isn’t just banter between friends, but there is a lack of reciprocity, says Cr1tiKaL. The fact that supcaitlin organized the shared stream himself and set the kiss as the goal, only to then act as if everything was an imposition, is particularly criticized.

Mod says everything is fine, but viewers see it differently

How did the conversation go? In the call with Cr1tiKaL, Dilly insisted that he was good friends with supcaitlin and that the two had more of a sibling-like relationship. According to the mod, he separates the private relationship from the streamer’s online presence. You can find the whole conversation on YouTube.

Dilly also explained in another stream with supcaitlin: “Cait has been a great friend to me since I’ve been here, we had fun every night. […] If we tease or make jokes about each other, I don’t take it to heart.”

However, the mod was unable to really convince either Cr1tiKaL or the viewers with its explanations. The content creator said it was sad that Dilly, a “nice guy,” would put himself in such a position. Fans believe that the streamer has literally brainwashed her mod.

However, everyone seems to agree that no one deserves such treatment. Even if Supcaitlin was completely different away from the cameras, the logic goes, her behavior on stream still shows a lack of respect for Dilly as a person.

Streamer says: She is completely different behind the camera

What does the streamer say? Supcaitlin herself explained in her own stream that she appears completely different in front of the camera than in real life. It’s just a Twitch stream, just entertainment and not real. For her part, she accuses Cr1tiKaL of exploiting Dilly for its own content.

If you need a feel-good story after so much negativity, we have just the thing for you. Because encounters between streamers and mods don’t always have to end like this. This is shown by the story of a Twitch streamer who flew halfway around the world to meet her German mod.
