Games like Starfield invite you to explore and discover. A streamer probably wouldn’t have expected that loot could also be found in a quiet place.
On X, formerly Twitter, the Twitch streamer “Blurbs” shows a video clip of his game character standing in a toilet in Starfield. When he opens the toilet seat with some effort and improvisation, a surprise awaits him in the form of a useful item.
Because you can’t actually open the toilets in Starfield.
In addition to useful items, Starfield also has numerous useful skills to offer:
In Starfield you open toilets with towels, totally logical
What do you see in the video clip? On September 7th, Blurbs posted a video on
Blurbs then says, “Wait a minute. Can you open the toilets?” He then looks for an object to open the lid. Using a folded towel, he pushes up the toilet lid and discovers a medipack in the toilet.
He reacts visibly surprised:
Oh my god, there’s a medipack. In the toilet that you can’t open manually. That changes everything.
Then he is surprised a second time, because when he opens the toilet lid again, a new medipack has already spawned.
Here you can see the 46-second video:
Why does this change everything? Loot can be found on almost every corner in such games. Some players are very thorough when looting in RPGs and especially in games with an open game world. They walk around places, search even the smallest rooms, climb up rocks, and examine every dark corner.
Although players will certainly go into one or two toilets to loot, they probably won’t lift every toilet lid to see if there is any valuable loot hidden there – especially since you can’t actually open the toilets in Starfield.
Other players don’t bother with toilet lids, but rather with nasty NPCs.
The video and Blurbs’ experience show that it can be worth taking a second look. Whether you want to invest in a medipack – or a similar item – is up to you.
In the comments, Blurbs is asked how he manages to hold onto objects and move them in front of him. To do this, you have to hold down the “Use” button longer, which would actually be used to pick up items.
With this mechanic you can also become master thieves in Starfield if you move the right items:
So yes: buckets make you master thieves in Starfield – but a little different than in Skyrim
