With Tides, director Tim Fehlbaum has created a disturbing sci-fi thriller in which we experience a society after the end of the world in dark images. The film takes place in the not too distant future. Environmental catastrophes have made life on earth impossible – at least that is what those people who have taken refuge in the Keppler space colony fear.
Decades ago, the Ulysses expedition was sent out to check her original home – where she disappeared without a trace. In the present will another research mission started with the Ulysses 2. On board is Louise Blake (Nora Arnezeder), daughter of an astronaut who disappeared at the time.

In Tides, the protagonist Blake does not explore distant worlds, but rather returns to a world we know. Through dark, often surreal images, the familiar setting is portrayed like a distant planet.
As soon as she gets there, a post-apocalyptic sea scenario awaits Blake, whose deceptive vastness ensures that she doesn’t have a moment of peace. The more the astronaut comes into contact with the survivors, the more intensely she is forced to question her previous existence in the space colony.
This is especially true of Blake’s search for her father and his lost mission, through which a exciting mystery factor woven into the sci-fi thriller becomes. Tides not only impresses with its captivating plot, but also with a fantastic international cast.
A Game of Thrones star is joining the sci-fi thriller
Nora Arnezeder (Mozart in the Jungle, Army of the Dead) can unpack the facets of her acting skills in the role of the researching astronaut, because Blake’s search for a new home is ultimately also a search for himself, which brings with it some unexpected twists and turns .
Next to her, Iain Glen (Game of Thrones, Silo) is particularly convincing as the opaque survivor Gibson – with the perfect mix of friendly helpfulness and lurking curiosity, the actor gives you a slight goosebump feeling from the first encounter.
