Dune: Part Two was considered one of the most anticipated films of 2024 and was convincing across the board. Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi hit not only grossed almost $700 million worldwide, but was celebrated by press and fans alike. The film also has an average rating of 8.2/10 points in the Moviepilot community and has 93 percent positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
However, even though this film is undoubtedly intended for the largest possible cinema screen and the most penetrating sound system, you will soon have the opportunity to experience Dune: Part Two again on the slightly smaller screen. After House Atreides is attacked by the hostile Harkonnen on the planet Arrakis, Paul Atreides (Chalamet) and his mother Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) seek refuge with the Fremen. While Paul does everything he can to get to know the people’s culture and customs with the help of the warrior Chani (Zendaya), the Fremen see him as the prophesied messiah Lisan al Gaib, who is supposed to lead the people to paradise. Driven by a deep desire to avenge his father and his family, Paul finds himself caught up in an insoluble conflict that could end in a terrible war.
Denis Villeneuve has already emphasized several times in interviews that there will be a third Dune film under the title Dune Messiah to want to do. A few days ago the project was confirmed by the responsible production company Legendary Pictures.
