“One Thing about Stratford Summer Music is that we are going to offer a variety of different programming to interest everybody, and it’s always going to be quality programming,” Crystal Spicer Said.

“Maybe they’ll Learn Something. Maybe they’ll find that they are interested in that never thought they would be, so that an experience for everybody,” She Added.

The Milestone Season Kicks Off On July 17 at Avondale United Church with a Performance of German composer Carl Orff’s Famous Cantata Carmina Burana, Conducted by Summer Music Artistic Director Mark Fewer and Featuring The Renowned Pianists, the Bergmann Duo. Carmina Burana is based on 24 poems from a medieval collection of the same name that was originally was in the 11th or 12th century.

The Season, Which Runs Until Mid-August and Features 45 Different Performances, was a long time in the making, Spicer Said.

“Mark and I actually started planning for this summer a year ago, so we’ve been look at this for over 12 month now as we gear Up Towards the Summer. All the Pieces Are Finully Starting to Fall Into Place and Everhything is coming Together Nicely,” She Said.

Returning for yet Another Season is one of Summer Music’s Biggest Draws – Its Musicbarge Concert Series – Which Kicks Off On The Second Day of the Festival With the Duo of Jaron Camp and Rachael Frankruyter of York Street Thought Process, who will perform at 12 pm and 2:30 pm

“They’re Fantastic, and we think Everybody’s Going to Just Love TheM,” Spicer Said.

While the Musicbarge, which Meanders Along the Avon River, is free of charge, Summer Music Will Be Accepting Donations, Half of Which Will Go to the Local United Way.

Spicer is Particularly Looking Forward to Summer Music’s Updated Family Programming That Runs On Three Saturdays. Offered through a Partnership with the Stratford Perth Museum, the July 19 Program Will Feature the Carnival of Animals, included a petting zoo. The July 26 Event Will Feature Accordistist Michael Bridge, who will accompany a vintage Silent Film on Digital According, while the Aug. 9 Session is a performance by manitoba-based children’s entertainer al Simmons

“We’re really excited to bring in Even Those Youngest Audience to Stratford Summer Music, and by Making Our Family Programming Free, we hope to see a lot of Families Come Out and Really Start to look at What Music is available in our community and What Stratford Summer Music Said.

The Wraps Up on Aug. 10, with Two Events – The Vocal Academy Open Mic Night at the Starlight and, as the Last Hurrah, A Larger Performance on the Music Barge featuring the Shuffle Demons in Whatford Summer Music Has Dubbed “Summer’s Last Sound.”

While not Every Performance Will Appeal to All Audiences, The Festival is Still Going to Be Good, Spicer Promised.
