After arresting two men suspected of having been involved in a break and enter early Wednesday morning, Stratford police found and seized a duffel bag full of suspected fentanyl with an estimated street value of almost $40,000.

Stratford police said officers were contacted about a break and enter at a home on Cawston Street in Stratford shortly after 1 am Upon arrival, police reportedly found two suspects – a 35-year-old man and a 39-year-old man, both from – walking toward Forman Avenue. Police a witness identified the two men as allegedly being involved in the break and enter, leading to their arrests.

During the arrest, police reportedly found the suspects to be in possession of a large duffel bag filled with more than 132 grams of suspected fentanyl.

Both men were taken to police headquarters, where they were charged with break and enter, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. They were held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing.
