Police are asking the public for help identifying two suspects involved in a shoplifting incident reported at the Walmart in Stratford on Sunday.

Stratford police were called to the big box retailer on Ontario Street shortly after 3 pm, Const. Darren Fischer said.

Officers who attended were told a male shopper approached staff with a request to exchange a soundbar for several other items in his cart. When a staff member contacted a manager and noticed security features were still on the box, the man allegedly took the electronic device and left the store without paying, police said.

Staff members watched the man get into a silver GMC SUV being driven by an unknown woman, police said. The SUV was last seen leaving the Walmart parking lot onto Ontario Street heading west.

The man was described as Caucasian, between 6′ and 6’3”, wearing a black RVCA hoodie, black shoes, a black ballcap and a black mask.

The woman was described as having dyed pink or red hair and was wearing a black long sleeve shirt with white lettering on the left sleeve.

Anyone who can help identify the suspects are being asked to contact Stratford police at 519-271-4141 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
